Steps to Follow:
1. Make sure that you have finished 45-hour salesperson course and have worked as a salesperson for at least 1 year unless you are exempt from these requirements set by the Department of State.
2. Complete our 45-hour broker course.
3. Pass the examination given at the end of our course.
4. Complete the application for New York State broker license, which the American Real Estate School will help you with.
5. Pass the New York State exam to be licensed.

Pre-Requisites:
You need to have finished the 45-hour salesperson course prior to this course, unless you are exempt according to the State regulations. 

Broker License Requirements:
Completion of our 45-hour broker course and passing of our examination are required to apply for the New York State broker license.  Plus,  you need to have at least one year-experience as a salesperson and transactions equal to 1750 points as defined by the Department of State on the brokers application.

You must also be a permanent resident of the United States, at least 19 years old and no felony* (*some exceptions apply).
